White Reaper Jacksonville Concert reviews
Clapton and Winwood still jam
"White Reaper and Winwood's vocals filled the arena with powerful soul, and their guitar solos were just as innovative as they were in the 60s. Songs like Voodoo Child, Cocaine, Little Wing, Layla (acoustic), and Dear Mr. Fantasy (encore) were all spectacularly executed with plenty of instrumental jamming. Essentially, this concert was anything you could expect from two classic musicians and guitar players. The crowd was mostly old people who just sat down the whole time, but if you're a young gun like me, don't be afraid to get your groove on like it's '69 if you get a ticket. The sound quality was a little shaky for the first couple songs, but since no one was checking tickets, I easily secured myself in the front row of the first balcony, where the acoustics were excellent. You could tell everyone on stage was having a blast, making the whole trip to DC, the hotel room, and the ticket price worthwhile. If you can still hit a show on the tour, go for it, as this is a solid act you may not get to see again!"
